Attendance Hotline – (559) 583-5020

Parents are urged to notify the school as soon as you are aware your child will be absent. Absences must be verified within three (3) days of the absence to avoid becoming an unexcused absence. Once an absence is marked as unexcused, it can not be changed. When leaving a message, please include your name, student's name, date and reason for absence.

Health and Wellness Policy

In order to support and remain in compliance with our Health and Wellness Policy, we will no longer celebrate individual student birthdays or accept any sweet treats for any type of snacks. If agreed upon by the teacher and principal, parents may acknowledge the student by offering an alternative to sweet treats such as a goody bag with pencils, erasers, crayons, etc. Another creative idea is to donate a hardback book to the classroom library in honor of the student.

Safety Drills

For the safety and security of our students, we will be conducting safety drills on a monthly basis. The safety drills will vary between fire drills, earthquake drills including drop and cover drills, and active shooter drills including lock down and lock in drills. By practicing these mock drills our students learn and understand the procedures they must follow in the event of an actual emergency occurring on campus that could jeopardize their safety. Some drills will be scheduled in advance and others will be unannounced.

Visitor Management

Beginning in the 2017/18 school year, for the safety and security of our students, the District will begin implementation of Raptor, a visitor management system on all school sites. All visitors will be required to present a valid driver’s license or ID upon entering Armona Elementary School, Parkview Middle School, and Crossroads Charter School. The item presented will be scanned through a machine and a visitor badge will be printed. The badge will contain a picture of the person entering the school site, how many minors are accompanying them, date, and time. The Raptor system will allow the district to better monitor visitors. For more information, you may visit their website at https://raptortech.com/. Volunteers

Parents interested in volunteering in a classroom or becoming a chaperone for a school sponsored activity must complete a volunteer packet before they will be allowed to volunteer. A new application must be completed each school year. The volunteer packet is available in the school site offices as well as from the district office. As a volunteer you are a representative of the school and therefore must dress appropriately. Any person volunteering in a classroom, working in the classroom to assist the teacher or monitoring a student must dress as a professional. At the principal's discretion, a volunteer can be denied to accompany their child on a field trip and/or not allowed in the classroom if they are not dressed appropriately.
